not-so-big news

If you happened to hop over here from Lucy's, I'll be posting my swap items later this afternoon as I haven't had a chance to photograph them yet. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, click this button!

Charm About You

Now on to my big news.

Uhhuummm... I say this with trepidation. I made a Krista Stitched facebook page. I know, I know, but just let me explain.

I used to get a lot out of Facebook back in college, when it was nothing like it is today and I had tons of pals to keep up with and whatnot. Anymore, all I do is post pics of quilty things I create or links to quilty posts I write. These kinds of updates are met with crickets. Chirp.

So, I decided maybe my blogland friends might want to geek out about quilty things in between blog posts, or subscribe simply to have reminders whenever I do get around to posting. Plus then I can upload all the quilty stuff I want without fear of judgement by my non-quilty peers.

Sound reasonable? Ok well then go click "like" or whatever it is you do to "follow" me on facebook. But be warned, this Timeline nonsense is completely new to me and I'm really nervous to unveil it when I'm still not sure I know how to use it properly. But I created it days ago and I'm getting lonely on there all by myself, so here goes nothing. See you over there!

Or do you guys despise facebook? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on it :D

  1. I've been debating over doing the same thing, so I'm anxious to hear how it goes for you...and I like fb ok, but not half as much as my google reader & flickr.

  2. I hate facebook and still do not have one. If I made a personal one..I'd be posting mainly sewing things and that would probably annoy some folks. Sewing is one of those hobbies that I always dream and spontaneously talk about, I just don't go out..much ;D
But for those that can handle the facebook craze and its own culture, much congrats to them..I just can't handle it, XD.

  3. I love your photo! I am also debating myself a lot recently. If I ever get an account (and it might be soon) I would only do a Sana Saroti page. I would not do a personal one. The main reason to get one is that I feel like I am missing out on my friends news as bad as it sounds :( Whenever I say: "Oh, I didnt know that!" I'll get an answer like: "Well, they posted it on facebook"
    I hate this!

  4. I share your sentiments on Facebook...I used to use it alot, but now I cannot keep up with it and don't even understand how to use half of it with all the changes they keep implementing! I will definitely go "like" you though, would be fun to have more quilty contacts on there to keep up with! Good luck with it! :)

  5. If I still had my account, I would "like" or "fan" or whatever it is now. I grew tired of the drama that endured between my contacts and the nonsense that they would post. In the end, it really was just a time sucker and there were people on my "friends" list who wouldn't say boo to me in public (well, vice versa too!).

  6. I'd love to "like" you on FB, but I've sworn off of it, esp. after I read this article today on my Flipboard (new app for iPad--love it). I'll send it over because I have no idea how to do that from my iPad. Yet.
Wait. Here it is--I'd sent it to myself: http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/what_you_need_to_know_about_facebooks_new_privacy_1.php

    Spooky business!
