Do you have some Liberty of London fabric stashed away someplace safe? Would you like to take it out, cut it up, and sew it back together again?
Then join the Give Me Liberty! sew along hosted by Nicole of Bold Goods and myself, which starts today. We were both drooling over our Liberty stashes on Instagram and figured we should grab the scissors and ask you all to do the same.
There aren't any rules other than it's gotta be a sewing project with Liberty of London fabrics as the focus, just use your best judgement there. And if you're unsure, ask Nicole because I don't want to be the bad cop!
It can be a project you've already been working on or something you start up now, doesn't matter. Just mention that you're sewing along with us and reference this post, and perhaps add a button/logo to your blog or flickr or instagram or facebook or wherever you share your sewing related activities.
Post about your progress over the next three weeks and then on May 7th, head over to Nicole's blog to link up a finished project! I'm no good with the technologies and whatnot, so she'll be handling all of that. She used her computer wizardry to make the awesome banner and logo. Thanks, Nicole!
I'm planning a half square triangle project with my Liberty. Perhaps a pillow in the style of Rita at Red Pepper Quilts. I love what she did with HSTs in this project. Although that would be a LOT of tiny hsts for a pillow, so we'll see what kind of variation I can come up with.
Head over to Bold Goods to see what Nicole is planning for her Liberty project, and I hope you'll join us for our sew along!
I have some liberty fabrics I have not cut and I even have an ongoing project or I could start a new one. I think I best join in.
ReplyDeleteThis looks very enticing!!
ReplyDeleteI have ONE piece of Liberty fabric! Ha! I guess I could cut it up and put solids with it?! Or can I mix other fabrics with it? I love the title you guts chose - - catchy!!
ReplyDeleteVery excited as my next project up is a simple patchwork quilt with Liberty fabric for an English friend. This is great motivation!
ReplyDeleteOh how could I resist!!!
ReplyDeleteVery exciting! not sure what I'll make, but I'm excited to see what everyone else does!
ReplyDeleteI have some scraps that should be put to use. I look forward to seeing what everyone makes for this.
ReplyDeleteI'm in - I've just made a Liberty pillow but perhaps it needs a friend :)
ReplyDeleteOh! I have some vintage Liberty squares buried deep in my sewing room. I will dig them out and see what I can turn them into. It has been a long time since I saw them, so I hope I have not misplaced them (thrown out).
