Like my new toy?
quilting my warm/cool QAL quilt |
Just kidding! It belongs to my aunt's mother, who is now my new BFF because not only did she let me touch it, she let me play with it. I could gab and gab about the goings on of this past weekend, (I've been doing it all morning, poor coworkers!) but basically she said whenever I finish up a few quilt tops, just give her a call to make sure she's not using it and I can come up and quilt to my heart's content. I know, I can't believe it either.
For anyone who may not understand my over-the-moon excitement, this thing cost more than my car. They built a whole new room onto their house just to put it in. This is simply the quilting room. Her sewing room is in the basement and she's practically got a fabric store down there too. This is how I want to spend my retirement. No, this is how I want to spend the rest of my life starting right now. *sigh*
Linked up with Quiltstory's Fabric Tuesday. Lot's a cool stuff being posted, so click over and have a look around!
Ah! I want your BFF!! My grandmother's BFF has a whole longarm room plus a sewing/fabric room. I'd live there if I could... too bad she's about 1500 miles away!
ReplyDeleteSure beats using your dining room as a sewing room and having to clear it all away constantly. Oh a girl can dream! Lucky you having access to that wonderful room.
ReplyDeleteIs this hard to learn? That's what I've always wondered. I have been with my quilter for ages and I remembered when she started--not so great (she's really amazing now). So I've always wondered if it was hard to do.
ReplyDeleteIf it isn't, I'm going to have to find someone to rent me some time on theirs! You are really lucky. (And I love that sampler quilt of yours--I just have been reading lately and not commenting as school started and I've been slammed.) It will be a lovely quilt--really cool.
